COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA)

Lighthouse is partnering with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, the Alliance for Housing, Community Housing Network, and OLSHA to administer the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) program.
The State of Michigan’s CERA Program is designed to keep Michigan residents who fell behind on their rent or utilities during the COVID-19 pandemic in their homes. The program utilizes a collaborative community proves to expedite rental and utility assistance to COVID-19 affected tenants and their landlords.

Who is eligible?

CERA can serve renter households that have incomes less than 80% of Area Median Income who meet the following conditions:
• Individual(s) in the household has qualified for unemployment benefits or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or has experienced other financial hardship due directly or indirectly to the coronavirus outbreak; and
• Individual(s) in the household can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability evidenced by a past due utility or rent notice.

Emergency Food

Lighthouse has partnered with the COVID Response Network to help provide food deliveries to our Oakland County neighbors in need. If you are in need of having an Emergency Food Box delivered to your home, please order using the online form here.

Lighthouse will continue providing food boxes at our Clarkston and Pontiac locations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Pontiac – 46156 Woodward Ave. – 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Clarkston – 5850 Dixie Hwy. – 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

If you are visiting one of our office locations on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, please call us when you arrive at 248-920-6000 and press 2. Please stay in your vehicle and practice safe social distancing upon your arrival.

Food boxes are also available at the St. David’s Food Pantry. St. David’s Food Pantry is a Lighthouse satellite pantry in southern Oakland County (16200 W. 12 Mile Road – Southfield). Pickups are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

SOS -Emergency Shelter

For all inquiries regarding shelter space call SOS’s main office (248) 809-3773 Monday-Friday at 10:00am. At that time, we’ll be able to inform you if we have any openings and would potentially invite you and your family in that day for an intake. Because the demand for shelter is very high, we encourage people to call daily.
