Shamerah is a single mother with two children. After living in Texas for some time, Shamerah decided to move back to her hometown to be closer with family and friends. Unfortunately, the move did not work out and she ultimately ended up being homeless. Her children lived with family and friends until they were reunited and lived together with her grandmother. Shamerah began working a full-time job to start saving money for her and her family.
Unfortunately, because of some legal issues, she became homeless once again, which resulted in her entering the emergency shelter program at Lighthouse. After a few months, she entered the PATH program at Lighthouse, where she has been stably housed for the past 18 months. She was determined to make her life and her daughters’ lives better. Shamerah has since created her own salon business while simultaneously holding another full-time job. She is now in the process of looking for her own house.
